LAST WEEK'S ROUNDUP:  Around the noon hour on Friday Northern 
trade kicked in gear and a moderate to active trade developed 
with the full range of dressed deals at 171.00-174.00, mostly 
173.00, roughly $2.50 lower than the previous week's weighted 
average basis Nebraska. Southern business was light and late on 
Friday at 110.00-110.50, .50 to $1 below the previous week's 
trade. According to the Friday afternoon Mandatory reports 
total weekly trade volumes were as follows: KS 1,669; NE 
30,240; TX 0; CO 0, IA 15,653. Keep in mind that the cutoff for 
these reports was before Southern trade developed late Friday 
afternoon, so it will be interesting to see just what the 
actual totals will be when summaries are released later this 

DTN MORNING COMMENTS:  The country is typically quiet this 
morning with packers focusing on the collection of new 
showlists. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed 
until the second half of the week. Beef cutouts are expected to 
be mixed with light box movement. 

For the week ending August 11, 2018, Imported Beef Passed for 
Entry in the U.S. totaled 40,184, 96.26% of the previous week 
and 95.37% of the prior 4-week average.
